Peugeot in the parking lot

When G came home from the grocery store this afternoon, he was very excited about having seen a 2004 Peugeot in the store’s parking lot. You see, here in the Deep South, we ain’t got no poo-gots. So where on Earth had this shiny, new Peugeot come from?

When he went inside the grocery store, he was one step closer to finding out when he discovered that there was only one bottle of Perrier left on the shelf! Someone had bought up every other bottle of Perrier. Then, when he returned to the parking lot with his lonely bottle of Perrier, there was a family, with about 10 liters of Perrier, putting groceries into the Peugeot. AND they were speaking French! Can it be true? Other French people in this small town?

It turns out that they live right down the street from us. I asked him if he had said Bonjour to them, but he hadn’t because he didn’t know what else to say. Good point. I need to think of something to say in case that I run into them. I want to know where they’re from and how long they plan to stay here. How did those darn foreigners get all the way down here? ;-)
