knit: loop-d-loop sweater with yarn bee OH MY!
I received some encouragement from a friend to try out Teva Durham’s Loop-d-Loop book of knitting patterns. I like most of the patterns in the book and I immediately decided to try out the Lace Leaf Pullover. Being far too impatient and chintzy to look for and purchase the suggested yarn, I decided to go with the Yarn Bee Mosaic Twist. I thought it was very pretty and soft.

The sweater was very quick and easy to knit.

I learned the kitchener stitch WHICH I NOW LOVE.
I wore it once, on a Sunday afternoon; it was quite warm and a little itchy. I still loved it anyway.
Then I washed it in cold water and blocked it out.
And it had shrunk to about half its original size! The yarn instructions say that you can wash it warm… why would it shrink in cold?
Yet, Pauline still likes it. It is warm, pretty, and soft after all.

I like the pattern quite a bit, so I plan to try it again. Today I bought Lion brand Wool-Ease Thick & Chunky in Cranberry color and I will give it one more shot.
