choices! help!
Today I’ve come to a decision point, so I need your help.
Some of you have been asking about the progress on my brown, linen dress. I started it about 6 weeks ago, then got distracted by… ooh! Look! A bird!
OK, so I have made progress on the dress. The facing is 100% linen, a dark brown, cool-toned, medium-weight fabric. The drape is fantastic and I love the smooth, but hearty texture. I’m pretty much finished cutting out and seaming all the facing pieces together, so now it’s time to start the lining.

I still haven’t told you what kind of dress I’m making because I want it to be a surprise!
What color should the lining be? This dress is fully lined and I’ve thought about lots of different options, but narrowed it down to a 100% linen lining. I have several linens to choose from, so I need your help to decide which one to use.

Our Six Choices:
1. Same brown linen as the facing. (heaviest option)
2. Pale lemon linen. (light weight, but not thin)
3. Tomato red linen. (light-mid weight)
4. Pale blue linen. (light-weight)
5. White linen. (IL020 used for those linen hand towels) I might not have quite enough…. (light-mid weight)
6. Turquoise linen. (light-mid weight)
Leave me a comment to let me know which fabric you think I ought to use. I plan to cut out the lining this weekend and I’ll keep you updated on my progress.

the lt lavender btwn the turquiose and lt blue – my fav combo earthy brown and fantasy lavender- it would look so gooooood!
The white supplemented with the turquiose as needed.
Well, you’ve probably cut already, but I was not going to be of any help because there is no purple, no polka dots, and no sparkly.
I can’t wait to see this finished!
Janie, I was thinking turquoise also, but after seeing my fruity fabric purse with brown, red, orange, and yellow, I thought maybe red would be cool.
Terrasoap, lavender would be awesome, but unfortunately I don’t have lavender. (I think there may be a miscommunication between my digital camera and your monitor/screen!)
Jaspher, color blocks of white and turquoise, huh? definitely sounds unique!
