More about me
Elisabeth Poiré, Denver, CO
I am a full-time wife, daughter, sister, aunt, and eCommerce consultant.
I’m also a part-time knitter, seamstress, photographer, aromatherapist, painter, traveler, and vegan cook.
My mom taught me to sew when I was young. I hated it. While I was a teenager, I did a little bit of sewing. I still hated it.
I grew up in Alabama, got married and moved to France, somehow found my way to England where I broke my nose and cracked my front teeth, then immediately returned home to Alabama in April 2000.
After reading a few knitting blogs back in 2005, I decided that I wanted to learn to knit. I took a class during those Monday evenings in August, then set off to knit clothes. I loved it. I discovered I had a knack for garment construction and I loved seaming. These two interests brought me back to sewing.
I got a lovely, new sewing machine in 2009 and found out that sewing isn’t so bad after all. I like making adult garments, both sewn and knitted, so I share my experiences with other like-minded artists on this blog.
I became a happy and successful dietary vegan in 2007 due to minor health concerns. My husband and I have been married since 1998 and we share our home with two charming cats. We moved to Colorado at the end of 2009 where we love to ski and breathe the fresh mountain air. I have one of the best collections of The Girl from Ipanema cover songs ever.
My other interests are in linguistics, acupuncture, gardening, natural health remedies, bossa nova music and downtempo grooves.
